The standard 50-minute session fee is $250. You do not require a referral to engage in services if you wish to do so privately. Reduced fees may be available for students, low-income earners or those under financial stress. Payment details are required to secure an appointment time, and are securely stored through Stripe payment systems. Fees are charged after each appointment and where relevant Medicare rebates can be processed on your behalf.
If you are a Medicare card holder and require mental health support, you may be eligible to obtain a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) or Eating Disorder Care Plan (EDP) from your GP or treating Doctor. A MHCP entitles you to a rebate for part of the session fee up to 10 sessions per calendar year, and up to 40 sessions for an EDP. The rebate amount for a General Psychologist is currently $96.65 for a standard (50 minute) appointment.
If you are a member of a health insurance fund you may be eligible for a rebate depending on your level of cover. Get in contact with your health insurance provider to discuss if Psychology sessions are covered under your policy. Please note, you are only able to use one type of rebate per session (e.g. a rebate from Medicare or your health insurer, but not both).
Upon entering into a course of therapy upon mutual agreement between patient and Psychologist, an appointment time is reserved for you. SMS reminders will be sent 3 days prior to a session as well as the day before. If notice is not provided 48 hours prior to appointment time, appointment non-attendance or cancellation is subject to a fee up to the total amount of the session. It is encouraged to discuss expected changes to therapy attendance together in session so that necessary arrangements can be made to support your continued cared. Repeated non-attendance, or late cancellation/re-scheduling may result in changes to payment arrangements or the inability to continue to provide services to you.
